National Day of the Cowboy Celebration
Round up your posse and head to Oklahoma City for the National Day of the Cowboy celebration. Held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, the celebration will include the main highlight, a larger-than-life performance by the Oklahoma Opry. Dress up in your best Western outfit and enjoy a day of crafts and family-friendly activities in honor of cowboy culture.
National Day of the Cowboy was created in 2005 by the U.S. Senate to recognize and preserve the heritage of the cowboy, cowgirl and vaquero. In 2013, the event received permanent status as the fourth Saturday of each July.
