"Resilience: A Sansei Sense of Legacy" Exhibit
Head to the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center to see the "Resilience: A Sansei Sense of Legacy." The exhibit focuses on the reverberating generational effect of President Franklin Roosevelt's 1942 Executive Order 9066, which enforced the imprisonment of all Japanese Americans living on the West Coast of the United States. Told from the point of view of Sansei (third generation) Japanese Americans, the art exhibit expresses emotions that were often withheld by their elders. This traveling exhibit will be on display at the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center from July 1 to September 7.
