AMTRAK Heartland Flyer
AMTRAK Heartland Flyer
Sit back, relax and enjoy the unique scenery unfolding outside the windows of Oklahoma's Heartland Flyer. The AMTRAK Heartland Flyer is a passenger rail service between Oklahoma City and Fort Worth, Texas. The Heartland Flyer offers two daily trains, one each way, with stops in Norman, Purcell, Pauls Valley, Ardmore and Gainesville.
Light fare such as sandwiches and beverages can be purchased in the cafe-style club car. Each train consists of bi-level coaches. All of the Heartland Flyer's coaches feature an upper level coach section with spacious reclining seats, complete with individual reading lights and large windows. The lower level of the two Superliner Coaches features 12 wheelchair accessible seats on one end and restrooms on the other end.
The Oklahoma City station is located in the historic Santa Fe Depot on the west end of the Bricktown Entertainment District. This station is also located within one block of the Paycom Center, Cox Convention Center and three hotels.
If departing from Oklahoma City, parking is available in several covered parking garages situated in the downtown area and within close walking distance. A daily fee for use of the parking garages is charged. Parking is also available in the lot adjacent to the depot area; however, during special events this parking area may be limited.
As an additional service, the National Park Service is teaming up with AMTRAK to provide on-board tour guides every third Saturday, April through September. The Trails & Rails program will introduce southbound passengers to the history, landscape and economics of the areas in Oklahoma and Texas along the Flyer route.
