The Mont

Besides being an immensely popular hangout for University of Oklahoma students, The Mont continues to attract diners from all over the metro area, as it has done since opening in 1976. It offers enough well-prepared and tasty salads, soups, burgers and sandwiches to satisfy anyone, but the specialty here is Mexican food. Two of the best offerings are the Green Chili Burrito – tender roast beef cooked with green chiles and spices, then topped with cheddar cheese and a green chile sauce – and the Chicken Grande, featuring a large flour tortilla stuffed with char-grilled, diced chicken, beans and cheddar cheese, topped with chile con queso. During the warmer months, be sure and enjoy a meal on the gorgeous patio, home to the state’s first cool-water misting system, designed to keep diners comfortable.
