Museum of the Western Prairie
Aired On: 2015-03-07The Museum of Western Prairie shares the powerful and vibrant history of Native Americans, trail bosses, cowboys, ranchers and homesteaders who settled the area. Two large galleries at the museum are filled with inspiring exhibits and the museum also showcases an authentic half dugout, an 1891 ranch house, a working windmill and pioneer farm equipment. The collection has more than 35,000 artifacts. Visitors can learn about topics from geologic uplifts and ancient seas to irrigated farming and the Altus Air Force Base.
