Chelsea Area Historical Museum
Right off historic Route 66 in Rogers County lies the Chelsea Area Historical Museum, which celebrates the history of the town of Chelsea and the surrounding community. The museum began as a restoration project by the Chelsea Area Historical Society to preserve the historic Bank of Chelsea — the first state bank in Indian Territory which opened for business in 1896. From pioneer times all the way to Route 66’s golden age, this quaint museum brings history to life through artifacts, photographs and stories from previous generations.
