Celebrate Oklahoma's Western heritage at the 100th annual Old Settlers Reunion in Cheyenne. This week-long festival is held every five years to commemorate the 1892 Cheyenne-Arapaho land opening. Head to Roger Mills County for a variety of exciting events and fun activities that pay tribute to the Old West.

Stop by the CHS auditorium for the popular whiskers contest, held Tuesday at 7pm, where men from the area show off their beards. A turkey calling contest and Old Settlers style show will also be held that night. A gospel sing on Wednesday at 7pm and a town carnival on Thursday lead up to the main events held throughout the weekend. Friday events include an all-day carnival, quilt show and arts and crafts show. Stop by Dobson's at 4:30pm for a free meal and gunfight straight out of the Wild West. Stick around for the rodeo, held at 7pm in the arena, where the best cowboys around will compete for a title and a shiny belt buckle. Afterward, take your sweetheart to the old town gym and dance the night away at the old timer's dance.

A parade will be held at 10am Saturday morning. Watch as decorated floats, wagons, marching bands, antique cars, and people dressed in pioneer clothing make their way through downtown Cheyenne. Browse arts and crafts booths while listening to fiddlers and music from the past. Other events held throughout Saturday include a 9-mile foot race, pony and wagon rides, and a rodeo dance.
