A prolific songwriter, Black rose to superstardom with five consecutive No. 1 singles from his triple-platinum debut album, “Killin’ Time.” He followed its success with the triple-platinum “Put Yourself in My Shoes” and a series of platinum and gold albums throughout the 1990s.

Black has written or co-written each of his more than three dozen chart hits, building a catalog that includes 22 No. 1 songs and 31 Top 10 singles.
