In the early 2000s, artist Steven Allen Sewell ventured into Big Cabin, Oklahoma and approached Cabin RV Park owner Dwight Helm with a project idea. Sewell bartered with Helm, offering to paint a mural of his choosing on the Cabin RV Park’s walls in exchange for just enough cash to cover the cost of a motel room and food. Helm agreed and left Sewell to his artistic conventions. After relaxing in the grass near the wall, staring up at the blank canvas before him, Sewell found his inspiration. After a few days' work, Sewell surprised Helm with an intricate mural of a jalopy RV. This Go Modern mural is just one of many Sewell painted across Oklahoma before hanging up his paintbrushes to take up photography. Today, Sewell has settled in Monroe, Oklahoma to pursue film.
