Okmulgee Lake
Okmulgee Lake
Constructed in 1926, Okmulgee Lake features 668 surface acres of water within 20 wooded miles of shoreline. Located west of Okmulgee, this lake offers fishing, swimming, boating, water sports and more. Channel catfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, sunfish and spotted bass are some of the fish that can be found in the lake. On the east side of the lake, Okmulgee State Park offers a handicap-accessible fishing dock for easy access to the water. A boat ramp is available in the park, as well as a swim beach where you can bask in the sun or splash around in the water.
RV and tent campsites overlooking the scenic lake are available in the Okmulgee & Dripping Springs Recreation Area, including amenities such as a dump station, vault toilets, picnic shelter and a comfort station. Trails are offered in the park, including a three and 1/2 mile hiking trail, part of which is handicap-accessible. A playground and multiple picnic areas are available as well. Okmulgee Lake is an ideal destination for a weekend getaway, family vacation or day trip.
