Come to the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry in Locust Grove for a celebration of the written word in all its forms, as we celebrate the winners of the Oklahoma Poem Contest and National Poetry Month. As April is also National Kite Month, we include poetry and kite-flying every year. Wonder City Wordfest is sure to offer something for everyone to enjoy.

Tom Wallbank of the Tulsa Wind Riders will be on hand to help visitors put kites together and fly them. He will also have some huge kites of his own to fly and provide entertainment. The kites for the decorating contest are provided free of charge. The Matchbox car races are an off-shoot of the museum’s Route 66 exhibit. Participants are encouraged bring their own toy cars and race for prizes.
