This mural by Palmer Studios features paintings inspired by actual historic photos of Davenport. One panel highlights a land run scene featured in "Harper’s Weekly." Other panels in this 1891 land run mural include Nettie Davenport, the town’s first postmaster and namesake, and her log cabin post office. The mural also shows a mail delivery stage coach at the bottom of the scene. It also includes the first postmark issued from Davenport’s community post office. The 1891 Land Run Mural also stands as Route 66’s tallest mural, at 34 feet high.
