The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater was established in 1935 as an research and teaching arboretum. Today, the garden keeps this educational tradition alive within a 100-acre expanse that still includes an arboretum, as well as turf and nursery research centers and the studio gardens in which the weekly TV show "Oklahoma Gardening" is filmed.

The studio gardens are definitely the highlight of the Botanic Garden. Themed gardens can be found within the studio gardens, lending to abundant visual diversity. In the native splendor garden, plants native to Oklahoma are showcased. Learn how to bring plant life into a small space in the patio garden, and then observe hardy shade plants in the shade perennial garden.
The rock garden shows visitors that even a rock can be lovely with the right plants surrounding it. Be transported to another country as you step into the Japanese garden, featuring shrubs, trees and other features that promote peace and serenity by design. View the rock-lined water garden, complete with water lilies and fish, to see an ecosystem at work. Guided tours are available for groups of eight or more with an appointment.
