First Day Hike at Great Plains State Park

Join Great Plains State Park staff on January 1 for the park's annual First Day Hike. Meet at the park office parking lot at 11am for a hike along the Granite Hills & AARP Heart Healthy Trail. Be sure to bring your camera, binoculars, water and appropriate dress for cold weather. Leashed pets are welcome.
The event is held in conjunction with the America's State Parks First Day Hikes initiative that will take place in all 50 states. First Day Hikes offer individuals and families the opportunity to begin the New Year connecting with the outdoors and staying active.
