Located at the corner of Grand and Garriott in Enid, Lazy Circles in the Sky is a multi-piece sculpture installed in 2019 by artist Michael Shuck. Conceived as a gateway to downtown Enid, the red-tailed hawks taking flight draw your attention toward the many attractions in the downtown area. The sculpture's name is derived from the beloved musical lyrics, "Oklahoma, Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I, Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk making lazy circles in the sky."

The red-tailed hawk is a state symbol and is commonly seen in the skies of Northwestern Oklahoma. Shuck drew on his memories of drives thru Northwestern Oklahoma with his parents as he looked out the window and watched the hawks soaring around in the sky. He hopes this sculpture made of 3/4” plates of corten steel brings back fond memories for others as well. As it weathers, the steel takes on a rusty brown appearance meant to match the color of the red-tailed hawk.
