The Green Country Hamfest in Claremore will showcase the latest technology in radio operations. The largest ham radio festival in Oklahoma, this trade show offers visitors on-site FCC amateur radio license exams, as well as a chance to win terrific prizes. At the Green Country Hamfest, browse through commercial booths filled with the latest radios and accessories, enjoy a swap meet and flea market for ham radio equipment or attend a variety of forums and learn something new. Free parking is available with a free shuttle service as well as low-cost, on-site RV parking.  In addition this year we are hosting a banquet/fund raiser for the Oklahoma DX Association.  For those of you unfamiliar or new to amateur radio, DX is the term we use for distance.  Now, when conditions are right reaching far away places by amateur radio is not that difficult.  What gets it exciting is when the place is like some island country that has few if any ham radio operators and/or stations there.  Maybe a small group of hams visit it and operate for a few days every five years or so.  Then a mark of your operating skill is to make contact when everybody else it trying to get through too.  The banquet will be on Friday night over in the Rogers County Building on the NW corner of the Expo parking lot, across from El Azteca.
