The Union Mission Marker is located in front of the Union Mission Cemetery. The Union Mission is known as the first Protestant mission, school and printing press in Indian Territory. The Union Mission was established in 1820 and its school operated from 1821 to 1825 and instructed Native American children from Osage, Creek and Cherokee tribes.
