Each year, the Davenport Chamber of Commerce and community members sell commemorative ornaments on the town’s Christmas tree to raise funds for new historical murals. This front and back Welcome to Davenport Mural greets visitors from all directions. Palmer Studios painted this mural to feature two of the original filling stations on Route 66. One side depicts a Magnolia cottage-style station, while the other side shows a Texaco station that is now the Early Bird Diner in town.
