Celebrate Okemah's birthday with a family-oriented day of fun at the annual Okemah Pioneer Days festival. This community event treats all ages are invited to a variety of activities, starting with the carnival held Wednesday-Saturday. Friday night, participate in the Antique Car Cruise and hear live music while reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.

Saturday morning, the main events kick off at the Pioneer Day Breakfast, continuing with a pet stroll and Semi-Annual Plant Sale. After picking up beautiful indoor and outdoor plants to brighten your homes and gardens, shop with vendors found along Broadway Street. At 2pm on Saturday, witness the community parade, featuring themed floats, the Pride of Okemah Marching Band, the Canadian Valley Rangerettes, motorcycles, trucks, tractors, golf carts, emergency service vehicles and cars.

Additional activities include a rooster crow contest and kids’ activities like turtle races, balloon stomps, relays, hula-hoop contests, treasure finds and sack races. Guests can also take part in a hog calling contest and the Pioneer Days Rodeo held Friday and Saturday. During Okemah Pioneer Days, get to know the entire town with a series of celebratory events, games and experiences held in downtown Okemah.
