Hugo Lake
Hugo Lake
Hugo Lake, located on the Kiamichi River, offers quiet, wooded campgrounds with plenty of elbow room, public hunting grounds and excellent fishing opportunities. The lake features several beautiful sandy swimming beaches in Kiamichi Park, Wilson Point day use area and Group Camp.
Miles of paved park roadways are ideal for hiking, jogging, cycling, mountain biking and horseback riding. Horses are not available to rent, so visitors must bring their own mounts. Skiers and boating enthusiasts can enjoy some 8,000 acres of open water in the lake. Rattan Landing offers great river access and a variety of fish species can be found in Hugo Lake including sand bass, crappie and catfish.
The lake area offers excellent hunting opportunities with over 25,000 acres of land available to the hunter. Kiamichi Park contains an archery practice range and a 3,000-acre Quality Deer Management Area. Bow hunting is permitted in and around most of the park areas, making Hugo Lake a one-of-a-kind area, where quality archery hunting is available within walking distance of Class-A camping. Enjoy excellent deer and duck hunting, along with other game, at the 18,196-acre Hugo Public Hunting Area.
Kiamichi Park contains several camp areas, equestrian camping area and a marina. Four group camping sites are also available. Facilities at each site include a picnic shelter, electric and water hookups, restrooms and showers.
