After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the local Drumright newspaper polled its residents, asking how they would respond to the tragedy. The overwhelming response was flying a flag so big that planes flying overhead would instantly spot it. Inspired by this reaction to, Drumright brought in Palmer Studios to paint the largest flag mural in Oklahoma on the walls of the Drumright Fire Department.
