Pioneer Days Celebration & PRCA Rodeo
May 2, 2025 - May 4, 2025
The Pioneer Days Celebration & PRCA Rodeo in Guymon is one of the signature events held in the Oklahoma panhandle each year. Make your way to Guymon, known as the saddle bronc capital of the world, during the first weekend in May to see where cowboys become legends. Join visitors from the surrounding five-state region to celebrate the pioneer spirit with a barbecue, festival events and one of Oklahoma's largest outdoor PRCA rodeos.
The highlight of Pioneer Days, the PRCA Rodeo draws thousands of visitors to Guymon's rodeo arena each year. The 10th largest rodeo in terms of prize money in the PRCA and Texas County's biggest event, this rodeo features over 900 PRCA contestants battling it out with handpicked stock. Watch as contestants compete in saddle bronc riding and steer roping, as well as bull riding, bareback riding, team roping, tie-down roping and barrel racing at this cowboy classic. The rodeo comes to a conclusion with four performances in what many consider a mini-Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, including a Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night. Children can even try mutton bustin' at the C. Hitch Pioneer Arena.
With its roots in the Depression era of the 1930s, Guymon's Pioneer Days strives to celebrate the pioneer spirit that has seen Guymon through past tough times. A Guymon tradition since 1933, Pioneer Days invites visitors to enjoy plenty of mercantile arts and crafts and join in all the festivities.
