Lights On The Island at Lake Wister State Park features a spectacular light show with radiant colors for hundreds of visitors each holiday season. Over 300 light displays cover the entire island with several animated displays. Each year, children can't wait to see the huge dinosaurs, the tumbling bears and Santa Claus.
Visitors to Lights on the Island are invited to wrap up in blankets, climb aboard a lighted carriage and take on a short ride through the lights. A joint effort of the staff at Lake Wister State Park, LeFlore County Development Coalition and Poteau Chamber of Commerce, each new season of the event is bigger and brighter.
