This November, don't miss the Oklahoma Historical Society's book release for "Washita Love Child: The Rise of Indigenous Rock Star Jesse Ed Davis." Author Douglas K. Miller will discuss his research on Davis, a Kiowa/Comanche guitarist who collaborated with music icons such as Bob Dylan, B.B. King, and John Lennon. The book chronicles Davis' rise to fame as well as his artistic influence and contributions to music history. Following Miller's discussion, you'll have an opportunity to ask the author a question and get a copy of the book signed. Stick around for a reception with live music by Chebon Tiger, a Seminole-Muskogee musician with personal and cultural ties to Davis. In addition, Davis' Telecaster guitar and Fender Bassman amplifier will be on display for a rare view of the instruments that helped define his sound.
