"Nature Pop!" Exhibit
Sean Kenney's "Nature POP!" exhibit showcases remarkable Lego sculptures placed throughout the Tulsa Botanic Garden. The exhibition from acclaimed artist Sean Kenney features over forty sculptures made from more than 800,000 Lego pieces. Each highly-stylized, colorful display stands in striking contrast to the surrounding gardens and inspires visitors to consider the beauty of nature. Kenney is known for his bold, graphic style and vibrant colors that can be seen on display during this event. Kenney’s work on “Nature POP!” plays on movement principles by blurring the boundaries between austere and everyday, and draws from a belief that everything is interconnected. The intricate displays explore the relationships that exist in nature, whether that be the delicate balance between predators and prey, the commonalities between species as they care for their young or the impact that humankind has on the natural world. Supporting content enhances the experience with scientific facts about the creatures presented in the displays.
