Named for U.S. Senator John A. Logan of Illinois, Logan County is located in north-central Oklahoma. The Kansas Southern Railway was the first railroad in Logan County and was built prior to 1889. At statehood in 1907, Guthrie was established as Oklahoma’s capital, but in 1910, the capital was moved to Oklahoma City.
