The Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission (OSRC) is a state agency responsible for oversight of three of the six scenic rivers in Oklahoma. The agency is headquartered on the Illinois River, a popular recreation destination for anglers, boaters, campers and swimmers. The OSRC has eight public access areas with convenient river access for swimming, fishing, boating and primitive camping. The river is located at the foot of the Ozark Mountains and has a 600 acre primitive area located close by that is perfect for seasonal hunting, mountain biking and hiking. The Illinois River is one of the state's most treasured resources and can be a relaxing getaway with abundant wildlife and 60 miles of scenic waterway lined with bluffs and trees.
